About
Pocket Playbook started as a group chat between three friends who kept swapping tips about the games we had on our phones. At some point the messages got too long to keep in a chat, so we turned them into proper guides. That's the whole origin story, nothing grander than that.
We pick games the way anyone would: something catches our eye in the store, we install it, and if it holds our attention past the first hour, it earns a full writeup. We care about games you can actually play on a commute or before bed, across every genre we can get our thumbs on.
Everything here comes from real playtime. If a boss fight took us twenty tries, we say so. If a tutorial is confusing, we explain the part that tripped us up so you don't repeat our mistakes. We'd rather be honest than breathless.
The site is small on purpose. A couple of writers, a shared spreadsheet of games we're testing, and a lot of coffee. If that sounds like your kind of corner of the internet, stick around.
