Emberfall Saga
★★★★★ 4.6
Emberfall Saga is a proper RPG that respects your time. You build a party of four, each with their own skill tree, and work through a story about a kingdom slowly going dark. The writing is better than it needs to be — there are side characters we actually remembered by name.
Combat is turn-based and leans on positioning and timing rather than raw stats. We spent a few fights getting wrecked before we figured out how elemental weaknesses chain together, and once it clicked the battles became the best part.
It's generous with checkpoints, which matters on mobile when you might get interrupted at any moment. Our one gripe is the inventory screen gets cluttered late-game, but that's a small complaint for something this deep.
What we liked
- Deep skill trees
- Tactical turn-based fights
- Story worth following
