Getting good at Volcane Spins

Getting good at Volcane Spins

August 3, 2026 · Mikkel Sørensen

When we first opened Volcane Spins we played it like a mindless tapper, spinning rows and hoping for matches. That works for the first dozen levels, but the game quietly expects more from you later, so it's worth building good habits early.

The biggest shift for us was learning to set up cascades instead of just clearing the nearest match. If you leave a near-complete cluster alone for one extra spin, the tiles that fall in from above often finish it for free and trigger a chain. Patience beats speed here more often than you'd expect.

Pay attention to the tile types the game introduces one at a time. Each new one changes the board rules slightly, and the levels right after an introduction are basically tutorials in disguise. We treated those as practice before the harder stages arrived.

Our last tip is boring but true: play in short sessions. Volcane Spins levels are quick, and your pattern recognition gets sharper with rest. We cleared stages in the morning that had stumped us the night before.

It's a small, friendly game, and none of this is rocket science. But a little intention turns it from a time-filler into something genuinely fun to master.
